Privacy, cookies, and tracking
Short version: structresi.com has no accounts, no forms, no ad networks, and sets no cookies of its own. This page explains the little the site does handle, what happens when you leave it for YouTube, Patreon, or a store, and how to reach me about any of it.
Last updated September 22, 2026. This policy covers structresi.com. StructResi’s YouTube, Patreon, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook pages run on those platforms and are governed by their privacy policies, not this one.
Who runs this site
StructResi is an independent educational project run by a licensed professional engineer in Wisconsin in his personal capacity. For anything about this policy, email [email protected].
What the site collects
Very little, because it is a static website. There is no login, no comment section, no contact form, no newsletter, and no checkout. The three things that do happen are below.
Hosting logs
structresi.com is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the time of each request in order to deliver the page and block abusive traffic. Cloudflare handles that data under its own privacy policy. I do not use it to identify visitors and have no practical way to.
Analytics
The site currently runs no analytics script at all. If that changes, I will use a cookieless, privacy-focused tool that reports aggregate page counts without identifying individual visitors, and this page will say so.
If you email [email protected], I keep your message and address so I can reply and so I have the thread if you write again. Email is handled through Google Workspace. You will not be added to any list, and your message will not be shared with anyone. Ask and I will delete it.
Cookies
structresi.com sets no cookies and uses no browser storage. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing on this domain to consent to. The cookies you may encounter come from other companies’ content and links, described next.
Tracking by third parties
Embedded videos
Episodes on the home page are embedded using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which limits what YouTube records until you press play. Once you play a video, YouTube and Google may collect viewing data under Google’s privacy policy, particularly if you are signed in to a Google account. If you would rather not, use the “Watch on YouTube” button and watch there on your own terms, or watch signed out.
Affiliate links
The Tools page links to Amazon, The Home Depot, and Lowe’s with affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer sets a cookie on its own site so it can credit StructResi if you buy something during that visit. That cookie lives on the retailer’s domain, not this one, and is governed by the retailer’s policy. StructResi receives aggregate commission reports and never sees who bought what. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases; StructResi also participates in affiliate programs with The Home Depot and Lowe’s. Commissions do not change what I recommend or what you pay.
Links to other platforms
Buttons and links to YouTube, Patreon, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook take you to those services. Each has its own privacy policy and its own cookies, and what you do there is between you and them.
What I don’t do
StructResi does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. There are no advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or data brokers on this site. The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
Because the site holds essentially nothing about you, the choices are simple. Block or clear third-party cookies in your browser if you want to keep YouTube and the retailers from setting them. Email me to have any message you sent deleted. Visitors in places with specific privacy laws (the EU, UK, California, and others) have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data; if you believe I hold any about you, the email address above is how to exercise them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the site ever starts collecting something new, such as analytics or a mailing list, that will be described here before it goes live.
